Muzdo is a social media platform where users can express their number 1 preference relative to the following 10 categories

• Book
• Song
• Film
• App
• Restaurant
• Public Person
• Location
• Video Game
• Accommodation
• Brand

Users’ default position is private, unless they deliberately choose to make it public.

Users can change their preferences as they come across options they love more. They can also see their preferences history and have the option to regret them.

Users can connect and post various items on each other’s preferences in a number of ways including written and vocal comments, pictures, videos, etc.

Mutual consent is required to be connected, however users can follow others without being connected provided the latter have made their profile public. When users are connected they have access to each other’s own preferences and their connections’ preferences and posts. They can also chat with them via the chat functionality.

At the top of the personal homepage the user’s picture is displayed together with their username and the number of connections, followers and following. Next to the username the < symbol reads “emfor” and means “Muzdo according to”, i.e. what the user tells other people they must do, they should try. In the central area the page displays a stack of cards with all 10 categories and the user’s preferences. On the left-hand side there is a picture representing the choice. On the tab above the picture a red + sign with a number indicates how many new posts are available. On the right-hand side there is a history icon where the preference history can be seen. By clicking on any card the relevant category page opens up.

The single category page shows an oval at the top of which the name of the preference and the picture are displayed. Below the picture there is a 75-character space (headed by a Why) for the user to articulate briefly the emotional rationale for their choice.

Preference posts can be made by clicking on the + sign at the bottom of the oval. They show as icons on the oval frame (a dial which can be moved clockwise and anticlockwise) and their content is displayed in the bottom half of the oval. At the top of the frame the date indicates when the item being displayed was posted.

The most recent one automatically falls on the 2 o’clock position and is highlighted with a shadow effect indicating it is the one currently being displayed. By rotating the dial clockwise and anti clockwise it is possible to display newer and older posts. Once the oval frame is full posts will start to disappear on the 11 o’clock position and can be recovered by rotating the dial anti clockwise.

The app also has a search page where a number of searches can be conducted

• Search for other users;

• Search for the most loved category according to certain parameters. For instance it is possible to conduct a search for the most loved restaurant in Paris for teachers, age group 20 – 30;

• Search for users who share a preference. For instance it is possible to search for all those users who live in New York, age group 40 – 50 and have chosen War and Peace as their favourite book. It is then possible to send a group message to all of them requesting to discuss the common preference;

The app has a chat page where users can chat both individually and as a group, and a notifications page where users are notified about any preference change of both their connections and those users they follow. Users are automatically notified when they share at least 5 preferences with another user.

The app has a profile page with users’ personal information, some of which is mandatory, username, age group, location, job, and some is optional. The profile page also includes the user’s picture and other info such as the number of connections and followers.

The profile page is accessible via the settings icon where other sections are also included such as Make your account private, Change language, etc.
